Chamacos Dance Company was founded in summer 2017 by Aurelio Planes Rodriguez and Inna Grudtcina. The company's work is identified with the work of Artistic Director, Aurelio Planes. Originally from Guantanamo, Cuba, his choreography is deeply influenced by Cuban Modern dance, using it as a base to develop his own dance language. Chamacos creates emotionally and physically intense pieces that create a connection and pull the audiences into the world created by Aurelio and the dancers.

The company consists of dancers from different countries such as Cuba, Russia, Mexico and the USA.  Its primary purpose is to preserve and promote Cuban Contemporary Dance and Latin culture by providing original and thought-provoking performances.  The company's mission is not only to create high quality works but also to bring communities together and involve more people in the art of dance.
